2014 in Review

Another busy year in our household! Elise continues to dance at least 5 days a week and was dancing 7 days a week the month leading up to Nutcracker. She performed in the Apprentice Company piece, "What Planet are We On?" in the February Choreography Showcase production. 

She also performed as one of the vine gatherers in the company's spring ballet, Giselle.

She is third from the right among the group seated on the floor. 

She also danced the part of "Glinda" in the school recital, "Down the Yellow Brick Road" 

She also performed in Modern, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop dances.

This fall, she advanced within the company to apprentice level and had the opportunity to dance at the Season Opener fundraiser. She was the Buttefly in the school tour show "Giraffes Can't Dance". 

 She also danced in Nutcracker as a Snowflake and as part of Chinese Tea. She understudied for Waltz of the Flowers.

She also participated in Girl Scouts and her church youth group. Going away on a snow retreat in January. 

Erik also had a busy year. He continued to play baseball for the North Perry Gators, playing at various positions primarily playing in the infield and at pitcher. He was able to fill in wherever he was needed. 

He was also active in scouts, earning his First Class Scout rank. He participated in a ski trip, the Klondike Derby, went on numerous hikes and camping trips including a 50 mile hike along the Washington coast. 

He also earned several merit badges this year including: Swimming, First Aid, Rowing, Chess, Fire Safety and Environmental Science. 

Over the summer he was able to join our church youth group and had fun joining in these activities. 

In the fall, he played soccer with the Tracyton Soccer Club. He played defender and midfielder. His team was much improved over last year and showed tremendous improvement over the course of the season. 

Both Elise and Erik got back into swimming this past year. Erik to brush up on his strokes to earn his Swimming merit badge for scouts and Elise (over the summer) so she could catch back up with her brother.

Both Elise and Erik are continuing to enjoy the freedom to go to school in their jammies, chew gum and do their reading and math while laying around on the sofa or on a bed.

Spicicle continues to spend his days sleeping and his nights running in his hedgie wheel. He might consider looking at you without getting all huffy and curling up in a ball, if you bring him his favorite snack, meal worms. If you want to give him a bath, he won't consider you to be his best friend (unless your name is Erik).
