Early in the month, Elise and I embarked on the Epic Sparkle Tour 2014 Edition (otherwise known as the search for fabric for her ballet costume). On this trip she visited her first fabric store with a dedicated bridal section. She was slightly overwhelmed! :) After shopping at 5 stores (two trips each to most of them), we ended up with this selection of fabric, lace and trim:
We have 3 different shades of pink tulle, cream petticoat net, a pale pink, rose pink and fuschia pink jacquard, two different kinds of bridal lace, nude mesh fabric and assorted trims. the plan is to layer the pink tulle between the petticoat net to add structure to the juliette skirt and to decrease it's pinkness. We have a beautiful iridescent organza for a partial top layer (think princess overskirt opening in front) that will be edged with the shiny ivory trim. The waist of the juliette and the bodice will be in the light pink jacquard with the center front of the bodice in the rose pink jacquard. The lace will be cut apart to use as individual appliques on both the bodice and skirt.
