Introducing Spicicle

We added a new member to our family today! Erik has been asking for a hedgehog for months. He actually wrote a 6 page persuasive letter explaining the care and keeping of hedgies and why he should be allowed to have one. Saturday, we went to a local breeder and met some of her hedgies, including Spicicle. Today we returned and picked him up. He is a 2.5 month old albino hedgehog, so we have another blonde boy in our family.

He found the ride home in the car to be very scary and wasn't in the mood to be held or cuddled this afternoon. And, when a hedgie doesn't want to be held, you really don't want to hold them. They kind of resemble a sea urchin.

Spicicle is enjoying checking out his new home. He especially loves running in his wheel. We're hoping that tomorrow he will be feeling a little braver and be willing for us to hold him.
