After all the boys had arrived, they progressed to a water fight with water balloons and sponge bombs.
They found that pool noodles made great water fight weapons. and used them kind of like an elephant's trunk to blow water at friends.
On at least one occasion the hose was set up to shoot water through the pool noodle. I kind of frowned upon using the hose as a weapon though, and that didn't last for too long.
Finally we moved on to presents, a bbq and cake.
The presents definitely had a "weapons" theme. Erik got a nerf gun from his sister, a teeny, tiny water gun and a "bow thingy" from a friend that launches sticky things.
Erik's cake continued the water fun theme with a few of his marine animals playing in a pool with pool noodles.
Our friend Steve had to check out the new weaponry.
The best thing about giving Erik a big lego set? It kept 3 children quietly entertained for 2 or more hours the following morning, letting me make a tiny dent in a pretty enormous sleep deficit.
