Erik had one of his friends spend the night after his birthday party and the next day we went to one of Erik's favorite places, the zoo! We got a late start, thanks to my moving rather slowly, but the weather was beautiful and everyone had a great time.
Today we saw the eel out and about, usually it is peeking out of it's lair.
The sting rays were enjoying some quiet time before round two of kids petting them.
Forrest and Elise got in on touching the sting rays and bamboo sharks.
Currently there is an exhibit featuring the extinct "Buzz Saw Shark".
These models show how the jaws and buzz saw-like teeth are thought to have worked.
We checked out the touch tanks and they put together a puzzle.

Everyone got an up close experience feeding the Budgies.
The Crested Porcupine was out sunbathing today.
This pretty girl, is Kali, the latest tiger born at our zoo. She was intently watching water the zoo keeper was squirting in her direction.
The youngest female clouded leopard at our zoo out in the play area checking out a ball. She had herself walking backwards with it. Her future mate was out in the exhibit, too.
The penguins knew how to spend a hot day, swimming in the water.
This Harbor Seal decided to check out the two legged wildlife coming by the exhibit.

Our trip ended with a hijacking, where I was held at "finger-gun point" to ensure my cooperation in taking them to Krispy Kreme for some sustenance!

Your zoo is really great--I loved the photo's you took. We have a budgies area too--and I thought it was great to be in there with the birds! Thanks for sharing!
